About Creative Crates

Creative Crates is a team of four students, based in Vancouver.  We're making a first-person Unity game in four months, and learning everything we can along the way.  This blog is meant to be both a testing platform for our game, and a learning resource for anyone else who's interested in making games.

The Team:

Zeb Reynolds (Project Manager and Audio):
Zeb loves working with passionate people on challenging projects, helping teams do what they do best, and making things that people enjoy.  He draws inspiration from his love for philosophy and technology,  and can usually be found obsessing over unconventional business models and the future of games.  Although his background is in composition -
as well as  a smattering of marketing, programming, and project management -
Zeb's main passion lies in making games that matter.

Thomas Halley (Programmer):
Thomas is a highly driven and concise designer.  He prefers clean and clear design over fluff and enjoys games that ask the player to work for their victory.  He has previously completed a BFA in Fine Art with a concentration in Animation and Interactive Design, and recently has developed a deep rooted love for programming and logic.  Ultimately, his goal is to create games that players can't put down.  His favorite games are Quake, Super Smash Bros, Counter Strike and Starcraft.

Elisa Scaldaferri (Artist):
Elisa (a.k.a. LeeLee) stands at a mere 5’1, but has a free spirit that casts shadows over skyscrapers. She’s a passionate young padawan with a constant need to learn. She finds she learns best by experiencing all sorts of life. Everything she works on reflects her love for story but her fascination with interaction and problem-solving has lead her to pursue game design. She’s designing the visual aesthetic for Lifted, and making sure the world is as captivating as the gameplay.
Before working on Lifted, Elisa studied animation, illustration and screenplay writing. She also runs a weekly webcomic, Name Game, hosted on the Escapist Magazine.  When she’s not designing worlds, she can be found watching films, fiddling with piano or playing Half-Life 2.

Spencer Roberts (Level Designer):
Spencer spends all his time thinking about the player - what path they'll choose, what they're thinking, and how to challenge both pros and noobs alike. He strives to design fun and challenging levels, and has a blast doing it. Spencer keeps a fun and productive attitude throughout each day and enjoys collaborating with others on any project.
